Attorney Bryan Schuler of Taiwan; shoplifting afficianado

The state of Alaska provided Bryan Schuler with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Alaska School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Bryan guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a District Attorney for the State of Alaska in Bethel.

  • Entered the Alaska Commercial Company Store in Bethel, and placed several cassette tapes in a daypack he was carrying with the intent to leave the store without paying for them
  • A criminal complaint was filed alleging that Bryan did "unlawfully, knowingly, and with intent to appropriate and deprive the owner of merchandise, conceal about his person unpurchased merchandise valued in excess of $50.00, a class A misdemeanor
  • Pled no contest and was convicted and placed on probation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Bryan by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $3,000.00.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Bryan practices his so-called brand of law with Hou Chao Buo at 3f, No. 8, Lane 67 Min-Tzu Road in Yung Ho City, Taipei, Taiwan.
