Attorney H. Cubbage Brown Jr. of Dover, DE; ethical gremlin

The state of Delaware presented H. Cubbage Brown Jr. with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from Widener University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the Delaware Supreme Court found Cubby guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failure to safeguard client funds resulted in the theft of $140,000 by an employee
• Failed to promptly distribute funds owing to clients for over six months
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Inaccurately reflected the status of the firm’s books and records
• Failed to supervise employee conduct with respect to the maintenance of the firms books and records
• Failed to maintain his law office books and records for several years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished Cubby by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Cubby practices his so-called brand of law at 1201 North Market Street in Dover, Delaware.
