Attorney Nicole Beran of Rockford, IL; thieving slacker

The state of Wisconsin presented Nicole L. Beran with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law. Nicole also received a license to practice in Illinois in 2000.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Nicole guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to return an unearned fee (thief)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to take steps to protect the client's interests upon termination of the representation
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Nicole!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Nicole by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Nicole practices her so-called brand of law Laura A Epstein & Associates LLC at 6072 Brynwood Drive in Rockford, Illinois.
