► Attorney Sal Rivera of Phoenix, AZ; convicted pervert

The state of Arizona presented Sal Rivera with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Chicago School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar found Sal guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Sal’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Three family members (Father, Son, and Daughter-in-Law) retained Rivera to represent them in a criminal case
  • Sal did not discuss with them the risks associated with joint representation and did not obtain informed consent from each client
  • Sal did not communicate directly at all with Father to confirm he wanted Sal to file a notice of appearance and enter a not guilty plea
  • Sal did not communicate with Father during the entire representation
  • Sal relied on Son to convey information to and from Father
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Sal by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigative costs of $1,200.00.

Sal’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Pled no contest (guilty in effect) to attempted sexual abuse, a class 6 felony
  • The criminal charges arose following an election-night event at which Sal became very intoxicated and was ejected from the premises
  • A female attorney offered to drive him home in his car while friends followed so that they could give her a ride home after dropping him off
  • While she was driving Sal asked her for oral sex, touched her neck and breast, grabbed her hair, and persisted after she repeatedly told him to stop
  • Fearing that Sal would become increasingly violent so she drove to a convenience store and got out of the car

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Sal by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $1,265.73.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Sal practices his so-called practice of law in Phoenix, Arizona.
