Attorney Huel Carter of Fultondale, AL; ethical elf

The state of Alabama presented Huel Malone Carter with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the Birmingham School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Huel guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Due to Huel’s failure to deliver a check to Medicare, his client’s social security disability payments were later garnished in an effort to satisfy Medicare’s lien
• Huel allowed two client settlement checks to become stale due to his negligence in not depositing said checks into a client trust account
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Huel by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.  

And lastly, as one would suspect, Huel fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.carterlf.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective client for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), Huel practices his so-called brand of law with the Carter Law Firm LLC at 925 Decatur Highway in Fultondale, Alabama.
