Former Judge Gayle Stahl of Malta, MT; Drunken convict

The state of Montana presented Joseph Gary Stahl with a law license in 1979 after she graduated from the State University of New York Buffalo

The Montana Judicial Standards Commission found Gayle guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a Cascade County Justice of the Peace in Great Falls, Montana.

  • Pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Montana Supreme Court punished Gayle by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Gayle practices her so-called brand of law in Malta, Montana, with the caveat that she at least give the appearance that she’s sober when attending to client matters.
