Former Judge Dwight Shaner of Uniontown, PA; convicted scofflaw

The Judicial Conduct Board of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania found Dwight guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting a Magisterial District Judge in Fayette County.

• Grand jury recommended charging Dwight with perjury, third degree felony
• Grand jury recommended charging Dwight with obstructing administration of law, second degree misdemeanor
• Perjury, obstruction administration of law dropped when Dwight plead guilty to one count of hindering apprehension or prosecution by providing false statement to law enforcement
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to comply and respect the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to promote public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
• Conveyed or permitted others to convey impression that they are in a special position to influence Dwight
• Had a duty to not dismiss criminal complaint against Robert Rudnick
• Failed to testify truthfully before Judicial Conduct Board (Screw you, said Dwight!)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

Rather than await a ruling that likely would have resulted in him being tossed off the bench, Dwight did what any cowardly Judicial Misfit does, he resigned from the bench.

As we speak (ca. November 2023), it is rumored that Dwight has an application pending as a restroom attendant at the Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen’s Club at 1620 Pennsylvania Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
