Attorney Edward Dilworth III of Norway, ME; ethical elf

The state of Maine presented Edward L. Dilworth III with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Maine Law School.

Panel B of the Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to adequately communicate with his client
• Failed to provide timely written confirmation of fee sharing
• Did not provide client with a written fee agreement explaining the terms under which Eddie and the
• Probate Attorney were dividing fees
• Eddie’s testimony demonstrated that he did not diligently research specific assets in contradiction to statements he made on this issue during the ethics investigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.  

As we speak (ca. October 2023) Eddie practices his so-called brand of law with Houlton Legal Service PA at 57 North Street in Norway, Maine
