Attorney Thomas Dewhurst III of Conway, ME; ethical elf

The state of Maine presented Thomas e. Dewhurst III with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from the University of Maine Law School.

Panel E of the Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in improper conduct while he was Trustee of a trust
  • Tommy improperly had a personal tenancy interest in the property owned by the trust
  • Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  • Improperly engaged in direct communications with a represented party, one of the trust beneficiaries
  • Violated duties owed to a client
  • Acted knowingly and he caused injury to the trust beneficiaries

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Tommy fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.dewhurstlaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2023) Tommy practices his so-called brand of law with The Law Offices of Thomas E. Dewhurst III PLLC at 50 White Mountain Highway in Conway, Maine.
