Attorney Robert B. Scott of Maumee, OH; moronic thief

The state of Ohio presented Robert Bernal Scott with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.

The Toledo Bar Association Grievance Committee found Robert guilty of the following misconduct
  1. Misused his client trust account
  2. Requested a notary to improperly (falsify) notarize a document
  3. Provided false information to a disciplinary authority
  4. Failed to maintain adequate financial records
  5. Failed to notify client of lack of legal malpractice insurance
  6. Failed to safeguard client’s property
  7. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  8. Acted with dishonest or selfish motive
  9. Engaged in multiple offenses
In one matter, Robert was hired to defend a client charged with aggravated murder despite never having tried a murder case before. Robert obtained a power of attorney from the defendant that he used to make several ATM withdrawals. He also closed the client’s 401(K) and deposited the funds into his personal account despite not earning it as a fee.

Robert also obtained possession of two of his client’s cars by having a notary improperly (falsely) notarize the client’s signature. Robert also helped himself to two concert tickets from his client’s home and used them.

Because Attorney Misfits in Ohio are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Robert was never criminally charged for altering an official record or for obstruction of justice.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Robert by gifting him with a 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2012) David practices law at 1371 Junior in Maumee, Ohio which is a suburb of Toledo.
