Attorney Philip E. Parker of Cedar Hill, TX; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Glen L. Work with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Texas Southern University School of Law.

The District 6 Grievance Committee found Phil guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Phil represented a potential seller in a sales transaction involving the former client
  • During Phil’s client representation, he accepted $50,000 from the potential buyer in connection with the proposed sales transaction
  • Phil failed to hold the $50,000 in an IOLTA or trust account and
  • Phil failed to promptly return these funds to the potential buyer after the proposed sales transaction was terminated

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Phil by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license and was assessed $900.00 in investigative costs.

As speak (ca. August 2023), Phil practices his so-called brand of law with The Law Office of Philip E. Parker in Cedar Hill, Texas.
