The state of California presented Herman Jason Cohen with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of West Los Angeles School of law.

FYI: the University of West Los Angeles is a law school dedicated to taking on losers that could not get accepted into mainstream law schools such as USC, UC Davis and/or UCLA.

As one would suspect, this is not Herman’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct

The State Bar Court found Herman guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to notify lienholders of receipt of settlement funds
• Failed to pay a contractually agreed to lien payment of $1,600 to Dr. Park for services provided to Herman’s client
• Willfully and intentionally misappropriated (stole) $1,530.25 owing to Dr. Park
• Failed to maintain lienholder funds in designated trust account
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to promptly pay funds owing to his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Herman by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $20,393.00.

As we speak (ca. September 2023), Herman practices his so-called brand of law with the HJC Law Group at 15303 Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks, California.
