Judge Ravi Sandill of Houston, TX; scofflaw

The state of Texas presented Ravi K. Sandill with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Houston School of Law.

The Texas Ethics Commission found Ravi guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in violations of the Texas Ethics Commission campaign expenditure laws involving the use of campaign funds
  • Failed to adequately describe the purpose of travel expense claims
  • It was unclear whether the travel was campaign or officeholder related
  • Failing to describe purpose of travel would lead someone viewing the entries incapable of determining the purpose of the claimed travel expense

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Ethics Commission punished Ravi by gifting him with a complimentary $300.00 fine.

As we speak (ca. September 2023), Ravi practices his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a 127th District Court judge in Houston, Texas.
