Attorney Ruby Torres of Scottsdale, AZ; slacker, loser

The state of Arizona presented Ruby Torres with a law license in 2013 after she graduated from the Phoenix School of Law. 

The Arizona State Bar found Ruby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Failed to respond to several email and text messages from her client
• Failed to promptly determine to whom a portion of the settlement funds should be distributed
• Engaged in illegal conduct
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to communicate with her client
• Knowingly failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Ruby!)
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly attempted to prevent a Phoenix police officer from obtaining a DNA sample from her based on a court order that had been secured without her knowledge

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Ruby by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigative costs of $1,200.00.  

And lastly, as one would suspect, Ruby and her firm fail to mention the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.familylawattorneymesaaz.net. Apparently, they chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.
