Attorney Justin Scott of Cherry Hill, NJ; ethical goblin

The state of New Jersey presented Justin L. Scott with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from Liberty University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Justin guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• In three instances, Justice made a false statement of material fact to disciplinary authorities (Screw you, said Justin!)
• Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation).
• Demonstrated a lack of remorse for his misconduct, evidenced, in part, by his evolving explanations for his unauthorized access to a computer database and his continued denial that he had installed the TeamViewer program on his former office desktop
• Justin surreptitiously gained access to a secure database that contained confidential client information, to which he was not privy
• Justin’s misconduct has the potential to undermine the public’s confidence in the bar

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Justin by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
