Attorney Charles Daugherty of Indianapolis; slacker, loser

The state of Indiana provided Charles Daugherty with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to appear at two status conferences on behalf of his client
  • Failed to appear for two show cause hearings of which were scheduled by the court for him to explain his previous absences
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Failed to properly communicate with opposing counsel
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to promptly to return to a client case file materials to which the client is entitled after termination of representation
  • Failed to expedite litigation consistent with the interests of a client
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2023), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law at 501 Somerset Bay in Indianapolis, Indiana.
