Attorney Donna Dorsett-Major of the Bahamas; ethical troll

The Law Society of the Bahamas presented Donna Dorsett-Major with a law license in 2004 after she graduated from the Charleston School of Law.

Senior Justice Indra Charles found Donna guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
• Donna was found guilty of contempt of court
• Contempt finding stemmed from civil case where Senior Justice Indra Charles found Dorsett-Major professionally negligent after she acted as the lawyer for both a vendor and purchaser in a property sale
• Allan and Sharon Crawford sued Donna for professional negligence after they had a dispute over property boundaries
• Donna’s sworn allegations aimed at a sitting judge created a real risk of undermining public confidence in the judiciary
• Fabricated allegations in a bid to force the judge’s recusal from a hearing on damages and costs relating to a property dispute
• Donna’s fabricated allegations of judicial misconduct was nothing more than a delaying tactic to stall the case

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Bahamas Court of Appeal upheld the finding of Senior Justice Indra Charles in his finding of contempt against along with a fine of $20,000.00.
