Former Judge Elizabeth Scherer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; ethical troll

The State of Florida provided Elizabeth Scherer with a law license in 2001 after she graduated from the University of Miami School of Law.

Former Gov. Rick Scott was duped into appointing Liz as a Circuit Court Judge in 2012. Liz didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

FYI: Liz has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-two (22) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area was about to offer her a good paying job after she received her law license in 2001.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Liz guilty of the following misconduct, all of which came about while she presided over the murder trial of the Parkland school shooter.

• Liz engaged in several fiery confrontations with members of the defense team
• Liz scolded and admonished the defense team and, after sentencing the shooter to life in prison without parole
• After the life sentence, Liz hugged prosecutors and members of the victims’ families
• Liz’s conduct created the perception of a bias against one party
• Liz’s appearance of bias tarnishes public confidence in the fairness and impartiality of the judiciary

As one would suspect, Liz did what any cowardly Judicial Misfit is expected to do when faced with the overwhelming prospect that she was going to be tossed off the bench, she resigned.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Liz practices her so-called brand of law at 201 SE 6^th Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
