Judge Hugh Harvey Jr. of Jackson, TN; drunken loser

The State of Tennessee provided Harvey Jr. Casey Mark Stokes with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Board of Judicial Conduct found Hugh guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as Madison County General Sessions Court judge.

  • After being stopped by Tennessee Highway Patrol, Hugh failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Hugh was also charged with possession of a handgun while intoxicated
  • Subsequently pled guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Conduct brought judiciary into disrepute
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Board of Judicial Conduct punished Hugh by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. June 2023), Hugh continues to dispense his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Madison County General Sessions Court judge in Jackson, Tennessee.
