Attorney Christopher Higgins of Hackensack, NJ; slacker, serial offender

The state of New Jersey presented Christopher Roy Higgins with a law license in 2012 after he graduated from the New England School of Law.

FYI: This wasn’t Chris’ First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary censure, one complimentary reprimand, and two complimentary suspensions of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Chris!)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to set forth in writing the basis or rate of the fee
• Engaged in numerous recordkeeping violations
• Failed to comply with applicable law requiring notice to or permission of a tribunal when terminating a representation
• to protect client's interests on termination of the representation
• Failed to obey the obligation of a tribunal

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Chris practices his so-called brand of law in Hackensack, New Jersey.
