Attorney Robert Smith III of Cleveland, OH; thieving convict

The state of Ohio presented Robert Smith III with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Cleveland State University School of Law.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Bobby’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Bobby was indicted for Grand Theft on January 26, 2022 in  Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas
• Subsequently, Bobby pled guilty to Grand Theft
• Failed to provide notice to client that he did not maintain malpractice insurance
• Failed to provide client with written fee agreement stating method by which fee was to be determined
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to maintain a record for each client on whose behalf funds are held in his trust account
• Failed to promptly deliver to the client or third person the funds they are entitled to receive
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Failed to maintain an IOLTA balance adequate to cover the amount owed to Ms. Javey constitutes misappropriation of client funds and Grand Theft

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bobby by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Bobby practices his so-called brand of with the Law Offices of Robert Smith III LL at 3751 Prospect Avenue East in Cleveland, Ohio.
