Attorney Desmond Friedland of British Columbia, CAN; thieving loser

The Law Society of British Columbia presentedDesmond Greg Friedland with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Law.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society of British Columbia found Des guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Misappropriated [stole] or improperly withdrew some or all of $825 from a client
• Withdrew funds from trust when he was not entitled to the funds
• Failed to withdraw funds from trust in payment of your fees as soon as practicable
• Failed to identify and record the source of funds received into your pooled trust account
• Failed to identify and record the identity of the client on whose behalf trust funds were received into your pooled trust account
• Failed to maintain a trust ledger, or other suitable system, showing separately for each client on whose behalf trust funds have been received, all trust funds received and disbursed, and the unexpended balance
• Failed to maintain a detailed monthly listing to support your monthly trust reconciliation that showed the unexpended balance of trust funds held for each client, and that identified each client for whom trust funds were held

As a direct result of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Des by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license and assessed disciplinary costs of $ $9,809.84.

As we speak (ca. December 2023), Des practices his so-called brand of law with Des Friedland & Associates at 700 West 6^th Avenue in Vancouver, British Columbia.
