Attorney Codie Mitchell of Toronto, CAN; guilty of sexual misconduct

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Codie Robert Mitchell with a law license in 2019 after he graduated from the University of Ottawa School of Law.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society of Ontario found Codie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • University Review found Codie to have breached the Prevention of Sexual Violence Policy while at law school
  • Review Committee found that Codie breached school policy, and that the sexual activity that occurred constituted sexual violence
  • The complaint v. Codie alleged that sexual activity took place without her consent, and that she was unable to consent to sexual activity because of impairment
  • Review Committee found that the complainant became impaired after arriving at the party and that she did not give “active, direct, voluntary, unimpaired and conscious choice and agreement to engage in sexual activity”

As a direct result of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Codie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2023), Codie practices his so-called brand of law with Aird & Berlis LLP at 181 Bay Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
