Attorney Ted Gallagher of New York City; convicted shoplifter

The state of New York presented Ted W. Gallagher with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from Brooklyn Law School.

The Departmental Discipline Committee for the 1st Judicial Department found Ted guilty of the following misconduct.

In 2009 Ted was charged in a felony complaint on two counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree. Teddy shoplifted goods with a value totaling about $2,500 on two separate occasions. The target of Teddy’s larceny was Bergdorf Goodman an upscale store in Manhattan.

Subsequently Ted pleaded guilty to one count of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. He was then sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, requiring him to continue in a weekly psychotherapy sessions for a period of one year. Apparently, Teddy was able to dupe the moronic judge on the case into actually believing that he stole $2,500 of goods because he was suffering from some undisclosed psychological problems. Apparently, these hyperbolic (BS) defenses are only limited to Attorney Misfits in the New York court system.

Teddy’s hired psychologist, Dr. Wormhoudt laughingly claimed that he suffered from a shoplifting compulsion and that he also suffers from chronic, long-term depression resulting from various stressful events in his life. This only proves that you can purchase any diagnosis if the “price is right.”

Teddy claims he attends “Shoplifters Anonymous” sessions. If he wasn’t such a Dumbo, he would still be classified as an “Anonymous Shoplifter.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on a panel of the 1st Judicial Department punished Ted by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2012) Ted practices law with the New York City Dept. of Housing Preservation & Development at 100 Gold Street in New York, NY.
