Attorney Michael Mui of New York City; lying slacker

The state of New York presented Michael H. Mui with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Made false and deliberate misrepresentations, throughout the course of two years, about the status of a client’s
  • wrongful discharge case
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflected on his fitness as a lawyer
  • Failed to carry out a contract of employment
  • Failed to file a lawsuit on behalf of his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patrons for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law with Sack & Sack LLP at 70 East 55th Street in New York, New York.
