Attorney Mark Hessel of Silver Spring, MD; ethical goblin

The District of Columbia Bar presented Mark Leonard Hessel with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law. Mark also received a license to practice in Maryland in 1982.

The DC Bar Counsel found Donniece guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to respond to discovery requests and letters from opposing counsel
• Failed to respond to nearly all client attempts to contact him
• Failed to provide information about status of matter
• Failed to advise his client that the court dismissed the case due to Mark’s failure to comply with discovery or otherwise prosecute the case

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Mark by gifting her with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Mark practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Mark Hessel at 11501 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland.
