Attorney Devon Barclay of Denver, CO; moronic liar

The State of Colorado provided Devon Michael Barclay with a law license in 2018 after he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Thomas McNamara found Devon guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Lied to the court
  • Submitted false legal documents
  • Engaged in a pattern of fraudulent schemes to try and get a case dismissed
  • Violated his professional duties
  • Committed egregious lawyer misconduct
  • Devon’s representation of the debtors from start to finish was incompetent (moron)
  • Engaged in intentional bad-faith misconduct
  • Rather than provide competent legal advice, Devon engaged in a bizarre gamesmanship in the bankruptcy process
  • Devon’s malfeasance was intentional and committed in bad faith resulting in serious abuse of the bankruptcy process
  • Misconduct was systematic and continuous, not some sort of one-time mistake
  • Devon forged signatures
  • Devon tried to manipulate the bankruptcy fee filing system
  • Filed motions based on false assertions of fact
  • Suggested his clients try to infect a rival attorney with COVID-19

It should be noted that because Attorney Misfits in Colorado are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Devon has not been criminally charged with forgery.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, Judge McNamara ordered that Devon be suspended from practicing in the Bankruptcy Court for three years.

FYI: On Jan 4, 2023, Devon the Moron announced on a Facebook page for Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy that his firm would be expanding to offer bankruptcy services in Arizona. In making the announcement, Devon had the chutzpah to state, “We are happy to announce that we are now serving the fine folks of Arizona. Let us help you get a fresh start.”

As we speak (ca. February 2023), Devon practices his so-called brand of law with Devon Barclay PC at 2590 Welton Street in Denver, Colorado.
