Attorney Charles Lamey III of Conway, AR; ethical troll

The State of Arkansas presented Charles Clayton Lamey III Lamey with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Charlie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Settled client case without client’s express approval for the amount settled
  • Failed to abide by a client's decisions concerning the objectives of representation
  • Failed to with his client as to how they are to be pursued
  • Failed to abide by a client's decision whether to accept an offer of settlement of a matter
  • In a criminal case, Charlie failed to abide by the client's decision, after consultation with Charlie, as to a plea to be entered, whether to waive jury trial and whether the client will testify
  • Failed to keep his client informed of the status of the matter
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Ordered to pay restitution of $4,806.00 to client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Charlie practices his so-called brand of law at 1340 Nabholz Avenue in Conway, Arkansas.
