Attorney Luke Howard of Asheville, NC; serial tax cheat

The state of North Carolina presented Luke Edgar Howard with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to timely file NC individual income tax returns for five consecutive years
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Committed criminal acts, which reflect adversely on his honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Luke.
