Attorney Michael Ries of Elk Grove Village, IL; convicted criminal

The state of Illinois provided Michael John Ries with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law.

The Hearing Board of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in numerous criminal acts
• Charged with domestic violence
• Found guilty of driving under influence (DUI)
• Mishandled three (3) client patent applications

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license effective June 2022.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Mikey will resume his so-called brand of law with Michael Ries & Associates at 1474 Vermont Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois in May 2024.
