Attorney Julia Dimick of Indianapolis; extortionist

The state of Indiana presented Julia Elizabeth Dimick with a law license in 1993.

The Indiana Bar Association found Julia guilty of the following misconduct.

While representing a client in a lawsuit, July came upon a new and improved manner in which to negotiate a settlement. Julia then sent a letter to the opposing lawyer implying that she would file an ethics complaint (grievance) against him unless he made a satisfactory settlement offer.

Julia’s threatening letter accused the other lawyer of a conflict of interest and other misconduct when he previously represented her client. Julia the Humanitarian offered the lawyer a “window of opportunity” to resolve the case. What a Gal!

Julia’s extortionist threats were basically intended to provide her with attorney fees. However, her threats backfired when her conduct was reported to the Bar.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Julia by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Because Attorney Misfits in Indiana are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Julia was never criminally charged for the extortionist threats she made.

As we speak (ca. June 2012) Julia practices law with Alerding Castor Hewitt, LLP at 47 South Pennsylvania Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana.
