Attorney Allan Botan of Alberta, CAN; ethical gremlin

The Law Society of Alberta presentedAllan G.M. Botan with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Alberta School of Law.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society of Alberta found Allan guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• While advocating on his own behalf, Al failed to represent himself within the limits of the law
• Failed to treat the tribunal with candor, fairness, courtesy, and respect
• Failed to carry on the practice of law and discharge all responsibilities to clients
• Failed to act honorably and with integrity
• Failed to report criminal conviction to the Law Society as required

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Allan by gifting him with a complimentary 1-month suspension of his law license and ordered that he pay $15,000.00 in investigative costs.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Allan practices his so-called brand of law at 10001 Bellamy Hill in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
