Judge Kathleen Robichaud of Rensselaer, NY; ethical troll

The state of New York provided Kathleen L. Robichaud with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Kathy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct in her position as a part-time judge.

• For more than two years, in seven different courts in Rensselaer, Albany and Rockland Counties, Kathy lent the prestige of her judicial office to advance the private interests of her client JP
• Used an email address on court filings and legal correspondence that identified her as a judge in matter involving JP
• Attested to client’s signature on a document she filed with the court on which she crossed out the words “Notary Public” and identified herself as “City Court Judge”
• JP was known personally to Kathy as her niece’s boyfriend
• Kathy agreed to represent JP in connection with an effort to clear his driver’s license, which had been suspended due to his
• failure to respond to traffic tickets in various courts in Albany, Rensselaer, and Rockland Counties
• Subsequently, Kathy also agreed to represent JP in Rensselaer County Family Court in connection with a child support and custody
• matter
• Lent the prestige of her judicial office to advance her private interests or that of others
• Improperly used her judicial title on a Consent to Change Attorney form she filed with the Sand Lake Town Court in connection with her representation of JP

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Commission on Judicial Conduct punished Kathy by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2023), Kathy practices her so-called brand of jurisprudence as a Judge of the Rensselaer City Court, Rensselaer County in Rensselaer, New York.
