Judge Michael Kelbley is but another ethical dwarf and moron as you’ll see below.
Unfortunately, Judge Michael Kelbley was able to dupe the voters in Seneca County to elect him to a judgeship in 1988. Even more unfortunate is the fact that Judge Michael Kelbley was able to bamboozle the voters into re-electing him on three subsequent occasions. Put simply, this certified moron and ethical elf has been sitting on the bench from 1988 to 2009.
Judge Michael Kelbley is yet another lackey who is willing to do the bidding of his benefactor, Chief Justice Thomas Moyer. In other words, Chief Justice Thomas Moyer has repeatedly assigned Judge Michael Kelbley as a visiting judge on cases to assure a favorable outcome.
Several years ago, Chief Justice Thomas Moyer assigned Judge Michael Kelbley to a case then pending in the Wood County court of Common Pleas (Bowling Green). Chief Justice Thomas Moyer chose Judge Michael Kelbley for this assignment to guarantee an outcome that would satisfy him.
The outcome that Chief Justice Moyer sought from Judge Michael Kelbley was for him to award tens-of-thousands of dollars in attorney fees even though Moyer knew from past experience that the fee claims were likely fraudulent and/or total fabrications.
The claims for fees by these two attorneys was for time they claimed to have spent on a lawsuit then pending in the Wood County Common Pleas Court in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Being the compliant unethical, moronic-lackey he is, Judge Michael Kelbley then went about holding a so-called evidentiary hearing on the claims for attorney fees. At those hearings the following evidence came to light as to the perjured testimony of the attorney, which Judge Michael Kelbley ignored in violation of his oath of office, the Code of Judicial Conduct, and the Code of Professional Responsibility (a three-fer if ya will).
During this so-called evidentiary hearing, one attorney was caught lying under oath at least fifty (50) times; however, Judge Michael Kelbley never took any steps to find the attorney in criminal contempt nor did he ever report this conduct to the proper authorities in accordance with his oath of office.
As a reward for the attorneys perjured testimony, Judge Michael Kelbley awarded him $71,129 in pro se (attorney represented himself) attorney fees. Judge Michael Kelbley then awarded this attorney’s partner over $50,000 in pro se fees, all of which were fraudulent and/or total fabrications.
One can only imagine how excited and happy Chief Justice Thomas Moyer was when his anointed lackey Judge Michael Kelbley informed him of this result.
Unfortunately for Chief Justice Thomas Moyer and Judge Michael Kelbley, the Court of Appeals in Toledo reversed the entire award finding that it was an absurdity and contrary to well-established law in Ohio.
Isn’t it nice to know that a certified moron, lackey and ethical twerp like Judge Michael Kelbley remains on the bench?
