Attorney Jane Smith of Monroe, WI; slacker, repeat offender

The state of Wisconsin presented Jane Krueger Smith with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Sandy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Jane’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jane!)
• Failed to respond to client calls
• Failed to comply with client request regarding status of matter
• Failed to comply with information requests
• Failed to pursue any post-conviction or appeals on behalf of her client
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Jane by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Jane’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to turn over her case file in the adoption matter to either the couple or successor counsel, notwithstanding multiple requests for the file made by the couple and successor counsel
• Upon being terminated Jane failed to take steps to protect her client’s interests
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to timely follow through on information that might lead to locating the birth father
• Failed to timely advance the interests of her clients in the adoption matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Jane by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Jane practices her so-called brand of law with the Wisconsin State Public Defenders Office at 1720 10^th Street in Monroe, Wisconsin.
