Judge Robert Putorti of Whitehall, NY; scofflaw, loser

The State of New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• While inside the Whitehall Village Court, Bobby brandished a loaded semi-automatic handgun at Brandon Wood, a defendant who was in the courthouse because Bobby was scheduled to hear the criminal trial of Wood that day heard that day
• At the time of the incident, Mr. Wood was not armed and was not acting with deadly physical force
• Gave an informal interview to his cousin while attending a family dinner, who was a journalism student at Hofstra University in which he described his practice of carrying a concealed firearm while presiding on the bench
• Bobby told other judges that he had once brandished his handgun in the courthouse at a person he allegedly described as a "large Black man"
• Bobby personally participated in the solicitation of funds or other fund-raising activities for his own personal benefit and for the benefit of the Whitehall Elks Lodge
• Failed to uphold the integrity and independence of the judiciary
• Failed to maintain high standards of conduct so that the integrity and independence of the judiciary would be preserved
• Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
• Failed to respect and comply with the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to act in a manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary
• Lent the prestige of judicial office to advance the private interests of himself and others,
• Failed to conduct his extra-judicial activities to minimize the risk of conflict with his judicial obligations
• Personally participated in the solicitation of funds or other fundraising activities

As expected, Bobby did what most cowards do when facing possible expulsion from the bench, he voluntarily resigned effective September 2022.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), it is rumored that Bobby has applied for a job as a janitor at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 141 Washington Avenue Extension in Albany, New York.
