Attorney David Grace of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; slacker, serial offender

The state of Wisconsin presented David L. Grace with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the John Marshall School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Davey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

FYI: Davey received two (2) complimentary private reprimands, one in 1999 and one in 2004 for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

• Failed to abide by a client’s decisions concerning the objectives of representation
• Failed to consult with the client as to how the client’s objectives were to be pursued
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to communicate with his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Davey’s 4^th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to appear at the order to show cause hearing on behalf of his client
• Davey’s failure to appear for his client at the show cause hearing forced the client to appear pro se (unrepresented)
• Failed to advise client for more than thirty (30) days of at least two court scheduled hearings
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
