Attorney Deborrah Newton of Raleigh, NC; cheating loser

The state of North Carolina presented Deborrah L. Newton with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Debbie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in collecting clearly excessive fees (cheater)
• Failed to keep contemporaneous client-specific timesheets in multiple indigent criminal defense cases and thus submitted fee applications containing inaccurate and excessive billing entries
• Duplicate billing for travel time, mileage and client meetings involving cases appointed to her by the Office of Capital Defender to represent eight indigent clients charged with murder
• At the time of an audit, Debbie had already been paid for three of eight fee applications
• Those eight applications caused her to receive a total of $6,520.40 in unearned funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Davie gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Debbie fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.newtonatlaw.com. Apparently, she decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Debbie practices her so-called brand of law with Newton Law at 557 East Edenton Street in Raleigh, North Carolina.
