Former Judge Jessica Matthews of Canton, NY; ethical gremlin

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Jessica guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was a Justice of the Clare Town Court in St. Lawrence County.

• Failed to file reports with the Office of the State Comptroller (“OSC”)
• Failed to remit funds owing to OSC
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jessica!)

Rather than await a decision from the Judicial Commission, Jessica took the cowards way out and resigned from the bench in June 2022.

As we speak (ca. September 2022), it is rumored that Jessica has an application pending for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 7494 US Highway 11 in Potsdam, New York.
