Judge Jared Smith of Tampa, FL; misogynistic bigot

Unfortunately, the state of Florida presented Jared Edward Smith with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from Washburn University of Queensland School of Law.

FYI: Former Gov. Rick Scott was duped into appointing Jared to the Hillsborough County Court in Mary 2017. Gov. Rick Scott didn’t appoint Ricky because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Tampa area. He was appointed because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Jared the misogynist presided over a matter involving a 17-year-old girl that was seeking an abortion without her parent’s consent. After denying the girl the right to an abortion, she appealed to the Court of Appeals, which reversed him.

During a hearing on the teen’s abortion request, Jared the misogynist made the following comments.

• Found her intelligent to be less than average
• Jared even claimed that the teen should not get an abortion because she does not care for younger family members, this despite the fact she did not have any younger siblings for this sham claim to be applicable
• Jared agued that the girl has never had any financial responsibilities, even so much as paying her own cellphone bills

In overturning Jared’s biased denial, the appellate court made the following findings.

• Jared’s claim that the teen never experienced any financial responsibilities, the Appeals Court found that at the time of the hearing, the teen worked about 20 hours a week, had $1,600 in savings, two credit cards, and paid for practically everything but her cellphone bills
• While Jared attempted to discredit the girl and use her grades as evidence, the appeals in favor of the teen
• The appellate court not only debunked Jared’s claims but found that he abused his discretion

Of course, it goes without saying that Jared doesn’t much give a damn when he’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since he is well aware that no Florida judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being a bigoted misogynist.
