Former Judge Oscar Salinas of Sullivan City, TX; convicted of extortion

 

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Oscar guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to obtain required judicial education for the 2019-2020 academic year
  • Failed to attend a New Judges Seminar on 12/17/2020
  • Pled guilty to federal extortion charges relating to his renegotiation of school district vendor contracts
  • In his role as La Joya Independent School District (“ISD”), Oscar engaged in criminal conduct

Rather than await a decision from the Texas Supreme Court, Oscar took the cowards way out an resigned from the bench in July 2022.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2022), Justin practices his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a 161st District Court Judge in Odessa, Texas.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2022), it is rumored that Oscar has an application pending for a job as a janitor at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 1705 Expressway 83 in Penitas, Texas.
