Attorney Randolph Romeo of Charleston, SC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina presented Randolph Romeo with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Samford University School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Randy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in multiple instances of misconduct
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to promptly file the deed in a mortgage transaction, even though he had already disbursed
  • funds to the seller
  • Failed to diligently protect the interests of his lender clients by not providing them with accurate information about the receipts and disbursements associated with transactions they were funding
  • Failed for many years to perform the requisite reviews of his trust account
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Misapplied entrusted funds, which could have resulted in his clients' permanent loss of entrusted funds or required them to incur additional expense in attempting to recover their funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Randy gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2022) Randy practices at 852 Forrest Drive in Charleston, South Carolina.
