Attorney Joseph Fiorino of Manitoba, CAN; ethical troll

The Law Society of Manitoba presented Ryan William Fawcett with a law license in 2017 after he graduated from the University of Manitoba School of Law.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society of Manitoba found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Joey!)
• Engaged in sharp practice
• Failed to be courteous and civil in his dealings with adverse parties during litigation
• Over the course of several months, Joey improperly obstructed and frustrated efforts by defense counsel to set a contested hearing date on their motion to dismiss his client’s claim
• Provided information he knew was inaccurate to the Court
• Improperly sought Court orders based on the inaccurate information he provided to the court
• Misled opposing counsel as to the status of instructions he had received from his client
• Refused to attend the Court registry to obtain hearing dates despite having been instructed by the Court to do so
• Initiated further Court proceedings without disclosing the existence of the pending Notice to Dismiss

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand, a $3,000.00 fine, and assessed investigative costs of $2,500.00.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Joey practices his so-called brand of law with the Joseph G. Fiorino Law Office at 5 Donald Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
