Attorney Athul Acharya of Portland, OR; convicted batterer

The State of Oregon presented Athul K. Acharya with a law license in 2015 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law. Athul also received a law license to practice in California in 2017

The Disciplinary Counsel found Athul guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Pled guilty to misdemeanor battery in California arising from a drunken encounter with law enforcement officers after a Stanford football game
• Charged with Battery on a Police Officer Engaged in the Performance of Duties and Resisting, Delaying, or Obstructing an Officer

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Athul by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Athul practices his so-called brand of law with Public Accountability in Portland, Oregon.
