The state of Massachusetts presented Joseph Spinale with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Suffolk University School of Law.
The Board of Bar Overseers found Jason guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

After receipt of $2,350 retainer, Joey wrote two letters, drafted a complaint which he didn’t file and then failed to perform any other work on behalf of the client’s trespass claims

Failed to communicate with clients

Failed to comply with client information requests

Failed to inform the client he had not filed the trespass complaint on her behalf

Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

Failed to properly register with federal court to receive electronic notification of docket entries

Failed to respond to discovery propounded by opposing party
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Engaged in prohibited business transactions with a client

During his seven-year client representation, Joey became aware that the client was contemplating bankruptcy and was therefore unable to pay Joey’s fees

The client offered Joey a mortgage on real estate he owned, and the Joey agreed to accept a $100,000 mortgage to secure payment

for past and future legal services

The client had Joey draft two additional mortgages on the same property of $100,000 each in favor of two family members to whom the client owed money

Joey caused the two additional mortgages to be recorded with the Registry of Deeds

Magically Joey took specific action to make sure his $100,000 mortgage was first and ahead of the client’s two family members

Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
