Judge Frederick R. Spencer of Anderson, IN; repeat offender

The state of Indiana provided Frederick R. Spencer with a law license in 1971.

Previously, Fred sat as a Madison Circuit Court Judge. During his disservice on the bench, the Indiana Judicial Commission found Judge Spencer guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Repeatedly violated Indiana law
  2. Specifically violated Indiana law in appointing special prosecutors
  3. Engaged in unlawful ex parte communications
  4. Allowed partisan interests to sway his judicial decisions
  5. Failed to discharge his adjudicative responsibilities
  6. Conduct failed to promote public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary
  7. Failed to accord every person their constitutional right to be heard
  8. Failed to dispose of all judicial matters fairly and equitably
And this wasn’t Fred’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree as seen below.

His 1st bite involved Fred engaging in unlawful ex parte communications which led to him receiving a complimentary private letter from the Commission.
Fred’s 2nd bite related to him granting an unlawful ex parte petition for change of custody which resulted in the Supreme Court gifting him with a complimentary public admonition.
Freddie’s 3rd bite involved his running of sham television ads during his re-election bid. For this misconduct, the enablers supporting Judicial Misfits on the Supreme Court punished Freddy by gifting him with a public reprimand.

As a consequence of being found guilty of misconduct for the 4th time, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Freddy by gifting him with a 30-day suspension from the bench.

Is there any wonder why most of the folks in Indiana have contempt for the manner in which Judicial Misfits are disciplined for engaging in misconduct?

As we speak (ca. June 2012) Fred continues to practice law in Anderson, Indiana.
