Attorney Joaquim Silva of Ludlow, MA; scammer, repeat offender

The state of Massachusetts presented Joaquim F. Silva with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Western New England School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Joaquim guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Joaquim’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• Falsely notarized two deeds causing them to be filed with the Registry of Deeds
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Joaquim knew that one sister illegally signed the other sister’s name to a deed because that sister lived in Brazil
• Even though he knew the Brazilian sister’s signature was a forgery, Joaquim notarized the signatures and thereby intentionally misrepresenting that the daughter living in Brazil had signed the deeds in his presence

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Joaquim by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

Joaquim’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• For nearly four years, Joaquim failed to keep proper office trust account records
• Improperly paid personal/business expenses out of his attorney trust account
• Negligently misused client funds
• Improperly issued checks directly to creditors from his attorney trust account
• Wrote check on insufficient funds account payable to his client (rubber)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Joaquim by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Joaquim.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Joaquim practices his so-called brand of law at 23 Franklin Street in Ludlow, Massachusetts.
