Attorney Diane Marion of Detroit, MI; ethical gremlin

The state of Michigan presented Diane L. Marion with a law license in 1981 after she graduated from Thomas Cooley School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #4 found Diane guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was employed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan.

  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a tribunal (Up yours, said Diane!)
  • Engaged in conduct that was prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Misrepresented information and facts to the Court regarding a case
  • Engaged in conduct that exposed the legal profession to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Diane by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license effective December 29, 2021 and assessed costs of $1,649.46.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Diane will resume her so-called brand of law in Detroit, Michigan in early December 2022.
