Is Lousiana the Citadel of Ethics in the good ol’ U S of A? Darn tootin it is!

In 2008, egislation was passed in Lousiana prohibiting the payment of ethics fines by unethical legislators (Is there another kind?) with the use of campaign funds.
It is common knowledge that the state of Louisiana has set the exemplary standard for ethics in regards to the manner in which public officials conduct themselves, right? I feel as though I’m preaching to the choir so to speak.
When a public official is found guilty of ethical misconduct, monetary sanctions are imposed against the offender. In most states, including California and Ohio, the corrupt politician is allowed to pay the monetary sanction by dipping into his/her campaign funds. Of course it goes without saying that this egregious punishment by State Ethics Commission’s acts as a deterrent to prevent further violations of criminal statutes, right?
After attending a mandatory ethics class at the Huey Long School of Ethics in Baton Rouge, the Lousiana Legislature voted in unison (unanimously) to prohibit ethical twerps from using campaign funds to pay monetary sanctions imposed by the Lousiana Ethics Comm.
In the recent past, this Dawg has sent letters to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and/or various state legislators in Texas asking them to support legislation similar to that passed by the Lousiana Legislature.
Unfortunately, these claimed ethical-stalwarts have and continue to refuse to take any action to follow in the steps of the Lousiana Legislature, thereby assuring that California, Texas and Ohio will continue to lag in imposing real punishment when a state elected official is found guilty of criminally violating campaign expense laws. Hail to the exalted Chiefs of California, Ohio and Texas, so sayeth the Lord.
