Judge Jeffrey V. Boles of Danville, IN; Gadaffi Wannabee

The state of Indiana provided Jeffrey Vardaman Boles with a law license in 1974.
The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications found Judge Boles guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Declared ex parte that parents of juveniles could pay pauper attorney fees
  2. Ordered salaried public defender in criminal case to be paid additional attorney fees by juvenile
  3. Improperly denied juvenile’s attorney any fees
  4. Wrongfully accused attorney of trying to cheat taxpayers
  5. Repeatedly abused his judicial power
  6. Became personally embroiled in political disputes
  7. Personally led campaigns against other public officials
  8. Repeatedly engaged in disruptive behavior on the bench
  9. Illegally ordered prisoners executed without appeal
  10. Granted probation to a convicted murderer even though Indiana law prohibits it
  11. Frequently used his judicial office to intimidate citizens and lawyers for his own personal purposes
  12. Engaged in improper political activity in order to portray himself as a “taxpayer’s hero”
  13. Engaged in willful misconduct
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jeffrey’s 1st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously found guilty of some of the same misconduct alluded to above. In this instance, the comedians sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court ordered Jeffrey to desist in his use of offensive language when dealing with other public officials.
In yet another case wherein the Commission undertook an investigation of Jeffrey’s misconduct, he responded by sent a responsive letter. In his letter to the Commission he stated that he found it incredible that they would even consider an investigation based upon information filed with the Commission by such a “low life” individuals.
As a consequence of his egregious misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Jeffrey be gifting him with a complimentary 6-day suspension from the bench.
Is it any wonder that most of the folks in Indiana have total contempt for the manner in which Judicial Misfits are punished?
As we speak (ca. June 2012) Boles continues to sit on the bench in Danville.
